September, Fall, & New Things!

I can’t believe it’s fall already, or even September! Where did summer go?! With harvest on the farm things were just a blur of being busy. But now that harvest is over I can get back to the important things like video games, and blogging!

Harvest got over earlier this year I actually got to go to the state fair. Which was amazing, and super fun! I hadn’t been in a few years, just because we do harvest blackberries, and they tend to spill over into September for harvesting. However for this year everything was 2 weeks early.

#ReadThemAllThon Revenge Of The Witch Review

I’ve finished my first book for the #ReadThemAllThon! Revenge of the Witch was a really quick read for me, and about half way through it dawned on me that the story sounded so familiar because I had seen the movie. I didn’t care for the movie much, but it was alright. Which is what this book was.

Books I’ve been Reading: June & July

I actually got a lot of reading done in July! I thought I was maybe going to get through one book, when I really got through two! Yay! In July I read The Magicians with my friends Bree & Ann, and This Savage Song. In June I read Starflight (which was also an Iggle Bookworms pick) and Four. These are my thoughts…

Heroes & Villians

IGGPPC’s theme for July is Heroes & Super Villains, and one of the super fun activities is to make a playlist with some fun prompts. I had a lot of fun coming up with songs, and actually dug out some that I haven’t listened to in a long time. I think the last prompt was the hardest “cape.” I imagined a cape that had been to a pretty epic battle of some kind so thats the kind of song I set out to find. I ended up with “Coat of Arms” and it’s just epic to listen to.

Inside The Theme: Woodland Fantasy

  1. What is your favorite fantasy story, and what’s so great about it?
    • Harry Potter, was my childhood. But there are countless stories that I love.
  2. What was your first experience with fantasy?
    • Experiencing the power of imagination. No matter what story it was, while reading, being able to use my imagination and see the story the author had created in my minds eye.
  3.  Modern technology allows fantasy stories to be told in a variety of different mediums now; do you prefer diving into a good old fashioned book, reading a colorful comic, yelling at your videogames while bathing in the blood of your virtual enemies, or snacking on all the popcorns in front of your TV or at the movies? (Listening to troubadours performing the ballad of Beowulf is also a totally valid choice.)
    • Books, Movies, and Video games are all good. I’ve just gotten into comics this year and it’s been a great adventure so far.
  4. Pets are a very popular choice in fantasy. Because pets are awesome. Which magical pet would you most like to adopt? (You can either go with a kind of creature, or a specific pet from a specific story you wouldn’t mind moving in with you – because let’s face it, we all want Toothless as a bestie.)
    • So Unicorn, because hello, love them. But if it was the HP world then an owl. 🙂
  5.  Your RPG play style: alignment, faction, race, and class. Do you play tabletop style or in a digital medium?
    • Umm I don’t even know what this means lol. I’ve never played a D&D game, but in video games I tend to like being an elf that is either an assassin or a ranger. I also like being a mage.

Dawn of Kick Ass

Looks like super hero movies are here to stay for a while, and it looks like DC is a bit jealous of all that money Marvel is making. So now we have Batman vs Superman, Dawn of Justice. I love me a good super hero movie, and I like both realms of Marvel & DC, but when it comes to the movies I have always found myself rooting for the villain in DC movies, that is until now.

SPOILER WARNING: If you haven’t seen the movie, GO WATCH IT! Cause I’m gonna spoil everything.

Let’s Go On An Adventure of Death + Destruction!

March was a very different kind of month for me when it came to reading, for the last two months I’ve been into reading comic books and really enjoyed it, so I had ordered a ton of comic books to read through out the month of March, thing is they are arriving today. I don’t know what is up with the shipping people or the warehouse but I’m never getting comics from Midtown Comics again. Worst service ever. So I guess in April I will be reading a ton of comics instead.

I defiantly had a theme going on in all the books I read. And that would be of Dystopias, which was also the theme for Iggle Bookworms, I didn’t even realize I read all dystopian novels this month.

Kawaii Overload!

I have been so “lazy” blogging this month, partly due to The Division and Black Desert Online eating away my life on the weekends, the other part is I’ve been having really awful back pains, and been having to go to the doctor for pain meds,  going to massages, and chiropractor appointments. Back pain is the worst because it just takes it out of you, and (at least for me)  I tend to sleep the pain off. But I’m doing better and settling down to get out a ton of Blog posts over this week, so be ready!

So this month was the best box for Kawaii Box out of all the months I’ve gotten it so far, and I’m excited to share all the goodies I got!

A few days ago IGGPPC published a First Look at BDO and it was really good, but I felt like maybe some of the info give was just a little off, and gave the wrong idea of the game. So I wanted to share their post & my response. Please feel free to go over to IGGPPC and check out their blog it’s a good read any day of the week.
