Trash or Not Trash, You Decide.

So I think by now we are all aware that Mass Effect Andromeda has been released, and was met with a mixture of criticism. I think my favorite of those is that people are calling ME:A the Dragon Age Inquisition of Space! And I totally get why people are saying that, but it makes me giggle more than anything else.

Full disclosure before we get into things; the only other ME Game I have played is ME:2 because I heard it was the best out of the series. And I didn’t really care for it. In fact I did not pre-order Andromeda, and I debated about weather to get it or wait for it to go on sale for about two weeks. So basically I’m not a fangirl of any sorts, but I’m also not a hater, like I just didn’t mesh with the game (ME:2) thats all.

So before we get into spoilers here are my general impressions of the game:

  • SPACE- lol obvious one, but in the game they make it feel like space is big and meant to be explored and that was kinda the point; I think they did that well.
  • Bugs- there are so many bugs in the game that I felt like I was playing a Bethesda game.
  • Combat- so kick ass, the only other ME game I’ve played is ME:2 and I hated the combat a lot. Actually, I just hated everything about that game. The ME series really isn’t for me, and yet here I find myself playing ME:A *sigh*
  • UI- clunky at best. I feel like they could have simplified so many things in the menus and had it be a lot cleaner.
  • Multiplayer-worth it. Or well, it was, until the latest patch. Maybe they will fix it, who knows?!
  • Story-Good, and makes me want to know what happens next. Feels like there will be DLC in our future.
  • New Game Plus- fuuuun. I really wish they had done this with Dragon Age!
  • Voice Acting & Scripts- Needs work, and I feel like that is being nice. Not all the characters did horrible, but some where pretty bad, and I feel it’s a direct effect of the script writers.
  • Animations- I feel like at this point I don’t really need to say anything, but they are pretty bad at times, other times it’s straight up cringe, and in rare moments its fine. (More about this in the spoiler section!)

Ok now time for spoilers, if you don’t want to be spoiled please stop reading!

Nutrient Dense Energy Bites

Energy Bites are the perfect afternoon snack for me at work. My job is often so busy that I forget (or don’t have time for) lunch so having these little power balls on hand makes things a lot easier! And, bonus: they are silly easy to make- my secret is I make a double batch then split it into however many add ins I want to make. This week I split my double batch into five.

I did have an extra motive for doing a double batch this week.  At work we got some new products in- berry powders! Berry powders are a great way to get the concentrated nutrition from the berries-and the powders are very versatile. So I wanted to play with them a bit, and I also needed a food “prop” for some product photos that I worked on this week for the shop’s website.

Iggle Daily Journal: March 2017

Another month in the books! This month I successfully completed the Iggle Daily Journal Challenge. It seems like every month there are more people from the community participating in it which is amazing! Its so great to see the community coming together and sharing their day, or what inspires them, or their troubles with each other. I think in the long run it makes us all stronger and forms a stronger community. Which with the world the way it is, is really important.  So, anyways, here are my pages:

I think my favorite pages are from March 23rd and 24th. So colorful and so happy. I was sick for a ton of March so I didn’t really have that much to write about or feel inspired by. I think this can be seen from day to day. I also started practicing and learning modern hand lettering-like that really cool stuff you see on pinterest all the time. You can start to see me playing with my lettering as the month goes on. Expanding my lettering styles is one of my goals for 2017 and since I was sick it gave me something to do on breaks from video games.

April is going to be insanely busy and I am hoping I have time to keep up with journaling. Sorta the opposite is happening for this next month from March.

This month (In March, for April) I also got a new 1407 Planner Kit which is my favorite of favorites, it goes perfectly with my notebook. (Check out more planner kits here and here.)

These kits are something I have come to look forward to every month. However I think in April I will be getting the mini kit for the month. Unless it somehow beats March’s kit.

Because of this amazing kit I was able to get my notebook just how I like it:

The planner clips are from a few places, the heart macaroon is from the Sweet Life kit from Villabeautiful.com, the green pom is from Peachy Pom on etsy, the unicorn macaroon is from pinkiebows on etsy and the unicorn is from thebooknook on etsy. Last but not least is the blue pen, it’s from PenGem‘s latest collection; Northern Lights.

Who Said Anything About A Sidekick?

So maybe a droid isn’t a sidekick, or maybe they are? I guess it depends on the role they play. As you can probably tell this weeks theme is droids! I loosely interpreted Droid to include all robots and AI. This post also made me  realize I don’t read much sci-fi cause I couldn’t think of a book other than Hitchhikers Guide that had a robot/AI in it.

I’m personally looking forward to the day we have AI and Droids to help with daily tasks. Until then we have all these cool droids and AI’s to dream about:

Geekery of the Month: Aloy

Because who doesn’t want to be a bad ass warrior that’s on an adventure to save the world? I adore Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn, I’ve also been obsessed with the game so it only makes sense for her to be my inspiration for this month’s Geekery of the Month. This is an everyday cosplay inspired by her I made. You can also check out my Pinterest board dedicated to Horizon Zero Dawn.

It’s Never to Late for Yoda, Santa!

In honor of St. Patty’s Day, today’s prompt for 5 Fandom Friday is to share 5 green themed photos. I don’t do a whole lot with green, it’s just not a color in my wheel house. So I hopped on my instagram and went back through my photos, and these are the five with the most green in them:

  • Top Left: “Isn’t he cute!! Spotted this little guy while I was helping my mom set up for a holiday show she’s doing over the weekend.” After I found this one, I found his herd, then as they finished setting up for the holiday show these guys were everywhere! But they are still adorable!
  • Top Right: “A night full of amazing food, good people, and tons of laughter. Oh and of course coffee!” Also my boyfriend is very jealous of this coffee mug. When I was visiting Kat & her amazing family, it wasn’t really near Christmas…
  • Under Top Right: “Dinner tonight: honey glazed chicken with snap peas and rice.” Mmm delicious! Can’t wait for snap peas to be in season again! Nothing better than fresh, locally sourced food!
  • Bottom Left: “So much nom nom is happening is the fields right now!” Blueberry season is my favorite out of all the berries we do. I love walking around in the fields grazing, lol.
  • Bottom Right: “Today I got the most beautiful postcard from @thecheerupgirls “she believed she could & so she did” is one of my favorite quotes. This is just what I need after such a long week of work.” Still have the post card, and that is still one of my very favorite quotes. For me it’s just a little reminder of how much of a fighter I am.

I hope you all have a happy & safe St. Patty’s Day!

Did Someone Say Sequel?

MOVIES! Who doesn’t love movies!? If we weren’t living in the digital age, and I didn’t live in a tiny apartment I would have a very impressive DVD/Blue Ray collection to show you guys. I guess I could do a screen shot of my iTunes library, or is that weird? Either way, movies are a love of mine. I binge watch more movies and tv series than anyone else I know. The only thing with me and movies is that I tend to like things more modern, no idea why but anything from like the 80’s or old just isn’t my cup of coffee.

This week’s prompt for 5 Fandom Friday is Favorite Sequels! Be sure to leave your’s in the comments! We can compare notes! (I have no idea why I’m such a nerd while writing today, haha.)

Horizon Zero Dawn Thoughts

Horizon Zero Dawn was released last week on the 28th of February, and I was far to excited. Since it released at midnight eastern standard time it released at nine pacific standard time for me. Which meant my Monday night was spent enjoying the newest episode of Supergirl and then jumping into the game for a few hours before having to go to bed since I worked in the morning.  This game is the reason I wanted to get a PS4, and my boyfriend is freaking amazing for getting me a PS4 Pro. I’m going to try really, really hard not to spoil anything big in this post since the game is still new.

Life Lately: March

96cb1731882d097cff8ac94ab6604607February just flew by! I can’t believe it’s March already, but I think Oregon hasn’t gotten the memo yet. I woke up this morning to snow. I like snow, but I’m ready for Spring, mostly because I want to wear flip flops again!  This is going to be a bit of a long post, a lot happened in the last month! So grab a cup of coffee and let’s get started!
