Happy February! February is one of my favorite months, mostly because of valentines day, but also because where I lives tends to start getting warmer in February and it even gets to where I can almost break out the flip flops. I’ve never done a life lately, so I thought why not give it a go!? I’ve been pretty busy with work recently, there are a lot of changes that I’m having to prepare for, for the next harvest. But I’ve also been taking “work hard, play hard” seriously and been giving myself lots of me time.
I’m actually on track for my Goodreads challenge this year. This month I’m going to be reading four books. I’m finishing up Sharp Objects for #GGBookClub (The Girl Gang Book Club) which is really January’s book. I kept reading other books than getting to this book. (Whoops) Then I’m reading Paper Girls Vol. 1 off of recommendations I saw on my Goodreads feed. But I think though I am most excited to dig into the second installment of A Court of Thorns and Roses series with “A Court of Mist and Fury”. I’ve been patiently waiting since I finished the first one. If I had it my way I would have read the entire series by now, but I’m trying to pace myself. The Last book I’m going to be reading is for Iggle Bookworms which have selected the book of The Mark by Veronica Roth. Apparently the book has largely been criticized for a few things, it will be interesting to see how it goes, for sure. *Add me as a friend on Goodreads, I always need more reading buddies!*
For Honor comes out on the 14th. Which I am really excited about, even though I haven’t pre-ordered. I was in the Closed Beta and there were some real issues that I want to see resolved before I pre-order the game. Hopefully I will see that in the Open Beta that starts on the 9th. If you’re planning on playing the beta or buying the game, I would love to trade user names (leave me a comment, or message me on Twitter) and we can play together!
The other game I am excited to get my hands on this month is Horizon Zero Dawn, releasing on February 28th. I saw this game during E3 in 2016, and I was like “I have to get a PS4” and turns out for Christmas I did get a PS4.
I have also been playing a ton of the Sims 4 since the Vampire Stuff pack came out. Currently I am working on creating a town that is based off of Disney Princesses and their families, with a twist of if they were living in today’s world-or well the world of the Sims, haha. It has been a lot of fun to design their houses, relationships, careers, just everything.
This month there is a ton happening around the IGGPPC community. Iggle Flicks (which I help with) is having their monthly movies, as well as I’m hosting a Valentine’s day event, 5 Lovely Nights, be sure to check it out on the IGGPPC Forums.
There is The Great Iggle Bake Off happening, which was newly announced, and I’m so stinking pumped for it. Every week for the next four weeks there will be a new challenge, the first challenge is Bread, I’ll be posting my recipe here later on in the week so be sure to come back for it! I can’t wait to see what everyone else makes!
There is also the Iggle Daily Journal which I’m posting to twitter, and Love Your Inner Geek Swap which I’m posting to Instagram. It’s really nice having so many activities going on in the community. It felt so weird when the forums were down, but I am so, so happy they are back, and everything is getting back to normal.
My obsessions this month can be summarized in the above photos: My planner (check out my latest planner post and my planner insta), foxes, unicorns, positive messages, and the adorable passport sized traveler’s notebook I made for February’s daily journal. So we’ll just have to wait and see what I come up with for Geekery of the Month.
Ok I think you’re all caught up! There is probably more, but we’ll get to that. Be sure to come back and check for new posts, it’s going to be a very busy month!
