September, Fall, & New Things!

I can’t believe it’s fall already, or even September! Where did summer go?! With harvest on the farm things were just a blur of being busy. But now that harvest is over I can get back to the important things like video games, and blogging!

Harvest got over earlier this year I actually got to go to the state fair. Which was amazing, and super fun! I hadn’t been in a few years, just because we do harvest blackberries, and they tend to spill over into September for harvesting. However for this year everything was 2 weeks early.

Then during Labor Day weekend, Zach and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary by recreating the first date we had when he came to visit me (we use to live 2 hours apart) with a trip to the beach! We also discovered the Pumpkin Spice Lattes were back (I haven’t stopped consuming them, I might have a problem). The next day my family threw a end of harvest BBQ and Zach’s parents came down from Portland (top middle photo, my dad is cutting with Zach’s dad and my mom watching him, and Zach and his mom behind them). Somewhere in this time frame Zach and I also went to one of our favorite restaurants, called Block 15, fantastic local food, and I tried deep fried pickles for the first time. It was magical! Also had some delicious Raspberry beer.

For a lot of people fall means the start of school. I’m currently not in school, I’ll be going back in January if everything goes well, but I do always buy a new planner this time of year. For about a year I’ve been thinking about getting an Erin Condren Life Planner. What made it hard for me to make the purchase was the price, so after a year I ended up buying two-one for home and one for work. So in the end, price didn’t matter that much apparently.

I also discovered there is a whole world of planning stickers, and people who get really into it. It’s been really inspiring seeing how creative people get with designs. Being the creative person that I am, I’ve been experimenting with making my own, and I’ve really been enjoying. I like being able to make stickers that are perfect for what I want to do- mostly being more geeky things.

img_9528The prefect example of this is I bought a digital download of some Pokemon Go planner stickers. The display image looked like something that would be perfect for me. Once I printed them out I realized that the inner designer in me was really annoyed by how squished the Poke balls were, and I discovered that I wanted to be able to track the best Pokemon I caught that day/session. For me that’s interesting, and after looking around I really couldn’t find anything I would be willing to buy, so I made my own. I also wanted to mark if I leveled up, and if I hatched an egg that day, and I wanted it to be fall colors because that’s how I want to plan. I had a ton of fun creating these stickers, so much so that I want to share them with you all! So here is a free download for any fellow Pokemon Go players out there! I also want to make some in the theme of each team. If anyone is interested in that let me know!

Things to look forward to this month on my blog: adventures IRL with the House GlaDOS flatcube, planning adventures, a #ggbookclub chat, and lots of other posts catching up from the latter part of august. I need to form an actual schedule- good thing I have a planner now! LOL.
