Summer is right around the corner, and that means a lot of people I know will be traveling. Every summer I get a little bit jealous of those people. I imagine them setting off to their exotic locations and all the fun and relaxing they get to do. While I am stuck working 12-18 hours days at least six days a week, but welcome to farm life. Harvest is go time, and I understand that, I also travel in the fall and winter. But still not being able to go see people when they are using their vacation time, or go on trips with people really sucks.
So to try and combat some of my envy I thought I would put together a list of summer destinations I want to travel to if I ever got the chance.
- Raging Waters San Dimas, San Dimas, CA, US
“Splash to the extreme with Raging Waters San Dimas‘ water slides, guaranteed to raise your heart rate. Dark Hole is a pitch-dark slide that speeds riders down in a two-seater raft, conquering a 52-foot drop. One of the fastest slides in America, the Bermuda Triangle offers three courses for riders in the dark, accelerating to 50 mph. Looking for some sun? Head to the million-gallon wave pool.”
I love swimming, and water parks. The one in the city where I live is very humble in comparison to just about anything else. I’ve always wanted to go to an awesome water park, and who doesn’t love a trip to Cali? (West Coast Best Coast!)
- Universal Studios, Orlando, FL, USA
I’ve been to Universal Studios in Hollywood, but that was in 2010, and a lot has changed, such as the whole Harry Potter bit. I know Hollywood now has it as well, but I’ve also never been to Florida, and I could meet “Florida Man” 😉 Who could pass up an opportunity like that? There are also a ton of other things to do in Orlando that would be super fun to make a trip out of.
- Sydney, Australia
I had the opportunity to travel to Australia and tour for 2 weeks in 2007, it was the most amazing time, amazing people (locals, and the group I was with), good food, and amazing beauty that is Australia. Sydney was one of my fav places I got to see, and I would love to go back. I think the thing I would most like to do again is climb across the Sydney Harbor Bridge. I am actually very scared of heights, but I didn’t experience any fear during that climb which still makes no sense to me. Plus as our seasons are reversed, you can still get a killer tan, but avoid the stupid hot weather of Australian summers.
- Hawaii- ALL OF IT
My family has always wanted to go to Hawaii, but because of our lifestyle (aka the farm) we haven’t been able too. So it’s a dream to go there. We all agree that we want to go to the smaller islands, where there aren’t as many tourists and we could experience what it’s actually like to live there. But I would like to see every island, and explore as much as possible.
- Bora Bora, Island in French Polynesia
When I was in like sixth grade, one of my older cousins gave me $30 for my birthday, and I really wanted this travel Europe book (I still have it- it’s overflowing with stickies of the places I would like to visit) and one of the most amazing places I read about was Bora Bora. It looks absolutely beautiful.
“Bora Bora is a small South Pacific island northwest of Tahiti in French Polynesia. Surrounded by sand-fringed motus (islets) and a turquoise lagoon protected by a coral reef, it’s known for its scuba diving. It’s also a popular luxury resort destination where some guest bungalows are perched over the water on stilts. At the island’s center rises 727m Mt. Otemanu, a dormant volcano.”
So those are my ultimate destinations, what are your’s? Have you been to an ultimate destination of your’s yet? Feel free to share, I would love to add even more places to my list!
