Valentines day for me isn’t just about romantic love, it’s about all the love I experience in my life, from the love I have for my parents, to how much I love my best friend. Love is this awesome, magical thing, it’s never ending, and you can always create more. Which is also what makes Valentines day my favorite holiday. I love spoiling my friends, family, and loved ones, so birthdays & holidays are my thing in every way!
Valentine’s Day is great because usually your friends don’t expect you to get them anything, so if you want to make cookies, or candy, a handmade valentine, or a single flower, their appreciation, surprise, and joy brings so much happiness to my heart.
Homemade Bath Bombs
Bath bombs are expensive, but we all love those Lush bombs-all natural products, who doesn’t love that- what people don’t realize is that bath bombs are super easy to make, for yourself or for friends. This can really help your wallet! All you need is baking soda, corn starch, citric acid, Epsom salt, your favorite essential oil, coconut oil (coco butter, shea butter, or olive oil are also good options), food coloring, and of course a bath bomb mold (plastic or metal). Check out this written tutorial and this video tutorial.
Strawberry Lemonade Gummy Hearts
These are a sour & sweet treat that is easy to make, and give to friends. I had this recipe in my box since last year I think. I did not come up with the recipe, but it’s a good one!
- 2/3 Cup Lemon Juice
- 1 1/2 cups starwberries (about 18 medium sized berries)
- 3 TBS Gelatin
- 1-2 TBS Honey
- Over medium low heat combine strawberries, lemon juice and honey.
- Once mixture starts to simmer, add to a blender and blend until smooth.
- With the blender on low, slowly add gelatin, and blend until combined.
- Pour into molds or into a parchment lined baking dish.
- Chill until set, about 30 minutes to an hour.
Free & DYI Valentine Cards
I loved getting valentines in the boxes we had to make when I was in elementary school. However I know not everyone has an expendable budget and the cutest cards are the ones that often cost the most. However you can click the link above and get those FREE downloadable Star Wars ones, or you can make your own! Here’s some inspiration:
DYI Heart Bookmarks
I think these are so stinking cute! I plan on not only making these for myself but also for my friends. If you are able to fold paper then you’ll have no problem making these.
DYI Galaxy Necklace
I found this gem on Pinterest. It seems simple enough, all you need are a metal charm in the shape of your choice, a necklace chain, nail polish or acrylic paint (dark color, light color, two other colors, glitter nail polish, clear coat.) and a cosmetic sponge. I hope your valentines day is surrounds you with love, and friendship. I know mine will be fill to the brim with both. From friends near and far, family, and loved ones.
