Best Games of 2015

I can’t believe 2015 is over! Where did it go?? Last year I did my top 10 best games of 2015, this year I’m going to do my top 5. Not because I played less games but I feel like we got less excellent ones. These games are what I enjoyed, and spent my time playing the most, and I think everyone has their own favorite games of the year weather the game wins prizes or not. Nor do my favorite games have to be published in 2015, sometimes people are late to the party or just really love a game. This list is in no particular order.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf

I know this game came out, what two years ago now? But for the amount of hours I am still putting into it, and enjoying it so freaking much it had to be on the list this year. I started playing animal crossing really hardcore in August, before that I just kinda did whatever I wanted with no rhyme or reason. So now my ambitions are to be like those beautiful towns you see on Tumblr, but with no cheats, which a lot of those towns use, which is ok, to each their own. 🙂

Pokemon Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire

Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, there were a lot of mixed feelings about these games being updated and released. I was excited because when they first came out, I wasn’t into Pokemon, or video games really. I was so glad to have a chance to play the games.

Dragon Age: Inquisition (DLCs)

Dragon Age: Inquisition was released in November of 2014, and released Jaws of Hakkon, The Descent, and Trespasser as large DLC packs (other “stuff” packs include The Black Emporium, Spoils of the Avvar,  and Spoils of the Qunari). If you haven’t played yet, there are still sales going, please play it! Have all the feels that the rest of the fandom is going through. In September I decided to play Inquisition 100%, get all the achievements do everything you can possibly do. It was so fun. Usually I play the games just to have fun, and for the story. But my 100% play through was challenging and made me love the game even more.

Fallout 4

The much anticipated Fallout 4, while many experienced glitches, I only had a cow on a house, which I found amusing. I very much enjoyed the game. I do think some interface stuff about the pipboy could have used refinement, I also feel that the character you play as was not allowed to be “bad” or “evil” which would have added more dimension to the game. However this was my first fallout game and I love the world and I want to know more about how other places are doing such as the fly over states, or Montana, those could be interesting.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

So I actually have not finished the Witcher 3 yet, I got it for Christmas. I know, I am ultra late to the party. But the game is amazing. It’s like Skyrim, and Dragon Age had a baby. So far I love the story, but I actually wish I could be more snarky, and Geralt is already pretty snarky. My favorite things so far are a) the auto horse riding, such a small thing to be happy about, but its the perfect example of what the horse riding in Dragon Age should have been. b) I like how the game doesn’t really hold your hand, if you don’t want it to. For example, you can do any quest you accept sure there is a level advisory but you haven’t got to listen to it, or you can go exploring and fight random creatures.

Honorable Mentions:

  • Kings Quest (Chapters 1 & 2)
  • Tales from the Borderlands
  • The Sims 4: Get Together
